Avoid Buying a Mercedes CLE

I purchased a brand new 2024 Mercedes CLE 220 D from the Eastbourne dealership in August 2024, a decision I have come to deeply regret. From the very next day, the electronic dashboard malfunctioned completely, leaving me without crucial functionalities. Despite following the recommended fixes, persistent issues plagued the vehicle, including malfunctioning mirrors, a defective boot lid, and an unreliable engine start button. The SOS system also failed during an emergency, rendering the car unsafe. Multiple dealership visits have achieved little improvement, with the persistent dashboard issues unresolved. Even the loaner car provided by Mercedes exhibited similar problems, indicating a broader issue with their vehicles. Despite ongoing efforts to resolve these problems and assurances that major Avoid Buying a Mercedes CLE components like the MBUX unit are being replaced, my confidence in the brand has been severely undermined. I've rejected the car and am awaiting Mercedes' decision on the return, prepared to escalate to the Financial Ombudsman if necessary. This negative experience has been echoed by other customers, further affirming my reluctance to recommend purchasing a new Mercedes.
